LISTEN HERE: No one expects The Spanish Flies!

EXCLUSIVE!

Listen to local rock quartet’s newest single Mr. Evil one day before its release!

Feliam (Fel) Gamarra moved with his family from Peru in 2010 and wound up in Edmonton four years ago. The musician wasted no time ensconcing himself in the local music scene – forming a “psychedelic power pop” band called The Spanish Flies. Gammara brings little of his own culture to a jangly new single called Mr. Evil, whose chorus line is “Tengo un problema” – “I have a problem.”

Gamarra says, “I wrote this song when I was going through a realization that I did something wrong, and I wanted to do something about it. I wanted to be better. I wanted acknowledge how difficult it is to refuse temptation, but it is still possible to do it. I am personifying that in Mr. Evil, asking it not to come to me anymore.”

Mr. Evil will be released on Spotify, Apple music, YouTube Music, Google Music and other streaming services worldwide on Wednesday, Feb. 20. The Spanish Flies will perform its single release show on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 9910, with the opening acts Shag, and flamenco guitarist David Jay.
