Let’s Talk about Alessia Cara: Coming to Edmonton in May

One day after “Let’s Talk Day” comes a concert announcement for an artist who’s done a lot more to benefit mental health than Bell – and that’s a lot. The company raised $7.2 million yesterday.

Alessia Cara, meanwhile, has reached millions of people with her honest and heartfelt music. How many times have you heard someone say “That song saved my life” – and you can bet people are saying that about this artist. Now the 22-year-old Ontario singer is going on tour to support her second album, The Pains of Growing.  She will play Edmonton at the Jubilee Auditorium on Wednesday, May 22. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Feb. 7. The fan club pre-sale begins on Feb. 1.

Scars to Your Beautiful made a huge impact when it came out in 2016. It’s one of the few pop hits, if not the only one, to address body image and self harming behaviour. There’s more like it where that came from: songs displaying positive validations and independent spirit: Wild Things, How Far I’ll Go, and more.

Cara was a sensation performing at the Grey Cup in November, and has won a slew of awards, including two Junos and a Grammy. The tour will take her across Canada in May.
