Joe Paonessa sometimes switches out the pronouns in that song he sings about wanting love and never being satisfied.
“It could be a guy looking for a guy, a girl looking for a girl. It doesn’t matter. It’s about people looking for that connection. Everybody wants something and everyone wants to be wanted,” he says.
The Wanting – the tale told from the point of view of a woman looking for a good man but being disappointed by all the jerks with their terrible pick-up lines – is the new single from the rock quartet Hewson Grey, being released worldwide on all the streaming services today (Aug. 29, 2019). The Edmonton band has recently have begun to amp up its activities, in between day jobs and children.
The release event proper happens Saturday, Sept 21 with a free afternoon show at the Black Dog; cassettes – yes, cassettes! – and vinyl will be for sale.
